Equine Assisted Wellness
Horses require people to be aware of their surroundings Through interactions with horses, you will learn to have a heightened self-awareness. Self-awareness is important in order to reveal patterns of behavior and gives you the opportunity to think in a new way. You will be able to focus on yourself and how your actions, thoughts, or emotions do or don't align with your internal standards
“What horses need to hear from us is what many of us would like to hear from ourselves, and each other. They need us to have a calm, focused assurance. They need us to be consistent. They need us to be assertive yet non-threatening. They need us to be both strong and compassionate. In short, horses need us to be our best selves.”
- Dawn Cumby-Dallin
The horse is an intuitive, honest and responsive being.
Because horse herds closely resemble the family system, our interactions with horses can lead to awareness of how we relate to ourselves and others. Each horse’s distinct personality may remind you of someone you know or a behaviors that you exhibit. We can allow ourselves to understand in a safe and non-judgmental way.
